This DR Horton-built gated community, located on Buck Island Road between Highway 278 and Bluffton Parkway, is sited around the Old Carolina Golf Links, a public course recently reduced from 18 holes to nine. There is a large pro shop/clubhouse with a restaurant that is also open to the public, but use of the community's pool, tennis court and playground are restricted to residents of the development. The Old Carolina section includes 37 homes, while the Traditions section (with its own gate now located on the Bluffton Parkway, subsequent to the closure of the original entrance from Buck Island Road) has a total of 66 homes. A new section of housing near the clubhouse is under construction. These appear to be cluster townhouses with garages, but they have not yet been publicly marketed.
